The BAFTA Award-winning video game (2010), “Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit” is a hot prospect for gamers seeking the most exhilarating experience with speed racing games. In the game, gamers take to the fantasy inspired city of Seacrest County, where they are able to compete in several different types of competitions. The fun does not stop at single player, either; you can play online in every version of this game with exception to the Wii version.

This game is the 16th title that has been released for this franchise, telling of how popular this game truly is amongst gamers. It’s also the third game to be released under the “Hot Pursuit” branding. The basic premise of the game is to outwit/outrun the cops using supped up supercars. A variety of customization options and downloadable contented expansions further entice gamers and augment the overall experience. According to EA – who makes the game – it’s sold about 8.5-million copies to-date. Today, we aim to answer some commonly asked questions by gamers who enjoy playing this game on their PS3 console and Xbox 360.

Q: How do you get the Apollo S?

A: You have to purchase the “Supersport” pack.

Q: Can you use bounty money to buy new cars?

A: No. As you earn XP, they will unlock.

Q: In “Free Drive” will you get chased by the cops?

A: No. This mode only features traffic.

Q: How do you find the hills so you can earn the Godzilla trophy?

A: They are near the police station on the right side of the map.

Q: How do you slow an opponent to death?

A: You have to pin them with your car from the front and hold them for several seconds until their car becomes destroyed.

Q: Are shortcuts really worth it?

A: Since they are over dirt tracks, if you have a fast car yes; slow car, no.

Q: Where can you find the “Burnout Paradise” reference in the game?

A: Drive to the Fox Lair Pass visitor center, it’s on the tour buses out front.

Q: How do you shake EMP lock?

A: Get out of any line of sight.

Get ready for some more racing action in triplicate, all ye lovers of free speed racing games online. Why pay for speed racing games when all you need to play them for free online is a computer, the internet, your mouse and a few hours of your spare time to burn? That was our mindset today when looking for three free games to offer up to you that would make you want to head to the nearest race track afterwards and burn rubber like Mario Andretti.

Street Speed: This game is lots of fun, even if it has a silly premise. Think of the most awesome street racing cars you could ever want to own. Next, think about those bumper car rides that you loved at the local fair. Now merge them together. You are tasked with going at high rates of speed on the street, and smashing other racers off the track as you race for the finish line.

Grand Prix Go: This isometric game is tons of fun. If you love speed racing games online, then get your fun hat ready for some good times. For a game that is as simple as this game is, it packs a whole heck of a lot of punch. Race around 12 different tracks against nine other cars as you try to win the Grand Prix. With 72 achievements you can earn, the fun never ends.

Speed Rally: This side scrolling game by Tremor may seem silly at the start, but hang in there as it’s a wild, addictive ride. The graphics are actually quite decent; especially for a side scrolling game that offers a rather detailed background. The premise is simple and fun: race your car and avoid obstacles along the way while trying to unlock 18 plus achievements. Free speed racing games online don’t get much more fun than this.

If you call yourself – and fondly at that – another of the entourages of Speed Racer gamers out there, then you had better get geared up with the proper array of Speed Racer RC collectibles. Over the years, a few different companies have created these scaled model RC cars, and they are still a very hot collector prospect. Check out the following three that we have uncovered in today’s article.

Jada Toys Speed Racer RC Mach 5: The most popular model of the RC Mach 5 by Jada, and there are six to choose from, is the 1:6 scale version. It comes with a nifty pistol gripped controller and can run on a 9V battery.

Mattel Speed Racer RC Racer X: You can get a Racer X Speed Racer car from Mattel as well. They have several models to choose from, but they can be hard to find of this character. The 1:38 scale infrared version is immensely popular amongst collectors.

Mattel Speed Racer RC Mach 6: There are about four or five different versions of this Mach 6 RC car that are made by Mattel. The most popular would be the 1:16 scale 49MHz RC, and that features your favorite Speed Racer in the cockpit. This collectible is ideal for ages 5-15 – and we adults, too.

WATCH: How to Make Your Speed Racer RC Racing Track

This cool video does not actually feature an RC Speed Racer gamers car, per-se. But the title of it is in fact, “Speed Racer.” What you can take from this video is that it shows you how to make a really awesome backyard closed-course obstacle racing track for RC cars. That being said, you can easily use the idea of this design to mold your own custom Speed Racer gamers RC car racing track from. Just saying.

New Speed Racer Comic Book Wows, Fully Delivers for Speed Racer Gamers
28
Mar 2012

If you consider yourself amongst the devout and loyal Speed Racer gamers, then you will most assuredly want to get your hands on the Speed Racer: Circle Of Vengeance #1 comic book that was released by Allegory Media in September of 2011. The comic book rights were in a tossup in early 2011, to the likes of what could be compared to the free agency bargaining pool that occurs in the NFL during the offseason. And Allegory was quick to snatch up the full rights to coveted Japanese magna (which means comic book in Japanese).

The comic book features stories by Len Wein, Robby Musso, Tommy Yune, James Rochell and Lee Kohse (see above picture). Telling of what Speed Racer gamers can expect from this highly anticipated – and long overdue if you ask us – return of Speed Mifune and the reemergence of the “Mach Go Go Go !” magna, is the elevator pitch that Allegory Media used to satiate prospective Speed Racer enthusiasts.

The Mach 5 is back and better than ever!  However, this time Speed Racer faces the most dangerous race of his career and it will take the whole family to help him win.  This first issue kicks off a new story arc that reveals the source of the Racer family’s long-running rivalry with the evil Car Acrobatic Racing Team.

In an early November (2011) press release, they offer some more details about what Speed fans can expect. To pull off the feat, Allegory has teamed up with a leading provider of digital content delivery systems technology, Graphicly.

“It’s an honor to bring Speed Racer to digital comics with Allegory,” commented CEO Micah
Baldwin of Graphicly regarding working with Allegory Media on the new Speed Racer comic book. “To help bring one of the world’s most well known and fun properties to a new generation of comic readers is exactly what we get excited about at Graphicly.”

The magna features highly detailed artist renderings and a rich narrative and plot, as well as an engaging storyline. Speed is BACK … and better than ever before!

If you love playing Speed Racer games, there’s a really no question that you also have an undying passion for reliving the adventure in various Speed Racer cartoons and episodes that have graced our TV sets since the 1960s. While Speed Racer and Racer X are generally the most prominently featured characters, alongside of Trixie that is, Pops Racer is also a key character because he is Speed’s father and the original inventor of the powerful Mifune engine that powers the Mach 5 and the Mach 6 (of which the “M” emblem on the hood actually stands for “Mifune Motors,” and not “Mach 5,” as some people mistakenly think). Learn more about Pops Racer in today’s fun profile post.

  • The voice for Pops Racer was acted out by Voiced by: Teiji Ōmiya (Japan), Jack Curtis (USA).
  • Pops’ last name is Mifune, which is the same name of his company that builds the powerful engines that power the Mach series of racecars, Mifune Motors.
  • Pops will do anything and everything in his power to protect Speed and his brother Rex. Sometimes he is a bit overbearing and strict, but it’s only because he greatly cares for his sons.
  • Pops once hurt himself modifying Speed’s car with new winglets, and had to stay at the hospital for a few days.
  • Pops wishes that Racer X would not be so evil, and that he would come back to the Mifune family to race alongside of Speed.
  • Chim-Chim frequently makes Pops lose control of his temper.
